Tax Information

Notice: Town of Clermont Assessor’s Office

Dear Residents:

As I am sure most of you are already aware, property values in Clermont and much of the Hudson Valley have increased in the recent past. Assessors are required to maintain a full valuation (100% equalization) to ensure those assessments track changes in the marketplace. With the assistance of the State and County, together we conducted an analysis of the trends in residential properties and like most communities, we experienced a double digit increase in sales prices. For the assessment year 2026, based upon data from July 2025, all residential/commercial assessments will all increase by 8%. The exceptions would be new construction, or when additional improvements were made and they would be subject to increase at a higher rate. This notice reflects that change in your property’s assessed value.

As a reminder, increasing assessments do not necessarily translate into increasing taxes. Taxes are a function of both the property value and the tax rate.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the assessor’s office at 518-929-3845 or email at tocassessor@yahoo.com.

Respectfully,

Cheryl Kaszluga
Town of Clermont
