Clermont Celebrates 250th Anniversary, October 24, Noon to 4 p.m.

Join us on October 24 for a town wide celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary!
Please note the new end time: the celebration will now wrap up at 4 p.m. rather than 5, so that cleanup can be finished before dark.
The day is being held in memory of longtime community volunteers Larry Saulpaugh and Charlie Larson.
On the schedule: food from Alma’s Tacos; the Village Green Committee will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, chili, and nachos; there will be a cake in celebration of the Nation’s birthday; historical talks on the Revolutionary War from Tom Shannon (Germantown Historical Society), Geoff Benton (Clermont State Historic Site) and local revolutionary war reenactor Josh Williams; live music from the Willi Amrod Band; a bounce house; pumpkin and face painting; local vendor tables, and more.
Volunteers are still the committee’s biggest need: set-up, clean-up, monitoring the bounce house, helping with pumpkin painting, and cooking and serving food. Reach out to Town Board member Dawn Brownson if you can lend a hand, or sign up here!
Time Capsule
Clermont will create a time capsule in order to share a view of what life is like today with residents 50 years from now in 2076.
We invite residents to capture a snapshot of current life (history) in Clermont to share with future Clermont residents. Items to be included are:
- Artwork
- Photographs
- Memorabilia from Clermont families and businesses
- Letters, essays and reflections on current events
- Other items that capture our culture, values and daily experiences
All Time Capsule submissions are due November 15. Click here for the full details.
